Amber Heard has 16 reasons why she will appeal her sentence in lawsuit against Johnny Depp

The saga of Amber Heard vs. Johnny Depp continues. The actress filed on Tuesday, October 11, a brief appealing the sentence she was awarded in the trial against her ex-husband.

Four months after a jury awarded Depp $10.3 million in damages, Heard is poised to appeal the decision along with her attorneys, David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown, of Ballard Spahr.

She argues lack of clear and convincing evidence

According to documents obtained by Vanity Fair, the 16 points include the lack of “clear and convincing evidence” to bad faith, a legal figure by which defamation cases are decided, as well as the fact that the trial court overruled the jury’s request for damages once it determined that both Heard and Depp had defamed each other, something “inherently and irreconcilably inconsistent.”

Each of the 16 points in the appeal, which contends, “The trial court erred in allowing Mr. Depp to argue or suggest in the courtroom that the jury could award damages based on statements or conduct that predated the publication of the challenged op-ed,” have not been officially disclosed.

However, the Twitter account @heardsstan posted what is, apparently, the document mentioning these points:

She is trying to rebuild her life in Spain

Heard was recently spotted in Mallorca, Spain, along with her daughter and her girlfriend, and the images have made waves on the Internet, as the actress apparently wants to leave her problems behind and rebuild her life.

According to witnesses, Amber went to Mallorca on vacation, but it seems that the tranquility she has found there has made her stay longer than expected and probably change her residence.

Thus, Johnny Depp’s ex has been seen all the time next to her partner, Bianca Butti, and her little daughter, Oonagh Paige Heard. Some reports indicate that Amber has registered under another name, Martha Jane Cannary, probably in reference to Calamity Jane, an American historical character known for having fought against the American Indians.
