The memory was so overwhelming that the young performer had trouble wrapping her brain around the reality of what went down. “I kinda can’t believe that it happened, cause it just happened,” she began. “She tried to get my attention at a party,” Destiny recalled in disbelief. “What? it sounds like I’m lying.” Sis is still pinching herself.
This wouldn’t be the first time queen Bey takes time to appreciate fresh talent. Normani also got this honor, an experience she shared with the public last spring. She recalled:
“She looks at me she says, ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve been waiting so long to meet you.’
She was just like ‘you keep doing your thing. I’m really proud of you. I’m watching you.'”
