Birdman and Young Thug are officially in business together. Although Thugger and Birdman have worked closely throughout the last several years, Thugger’s YSL label was partnered with Lyor Cohen’s 300 label. On Friday (March 15), Birdman and Young Thug took to social media to announce a new business deal that will partner YSL with Cash Money. “S/O to my business partner my youngest SON @thuggerthugger1 jus did a Major DEAlL with YSL label,” wrote Birdman on Instagram. Thugger confirmed the partnership with an Instagram post of his own captioned, “New biz.” Whether or not Thugger has left 300 is not confirmed.

As you may already know, Lil Wayne’s lawsuit and subsequent settlement with Cash Money and Universal ended with a hefty check for Tunechi and the freedom to remove his label from under Birdman’s wings. Young Money cut out the middle man and now is directly under Universal. It appears that Birdman has effectively replaced Young Money with YSL in this new business deal. The details of the partnership have yet to be revealed. NBA Youngboy, a YSL affiliate, also took to Instagram to celebrate the deal. Gunna, Lil Duke, Lil Keed and more are aligned with YSL, which gives Birdman a wealth of young talent to cultivate.
