The second collaboration to come of the Cardi B and Bruno Mars duo has hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, rocketing from No. 6 to No. 1 in the week ending March 16th. “Please Me” now becomes Bruno Mars’ third No. 1 on the chart and Cardi’s fourth, and reprises the role played by the two’s “Finesse” remix which lived at No. 1 for one week in January of last year. The jump in streams can be largely attributed to the debut of the music video for the track, which premiered on March 1st, adding to a total of 45.3 million streams in the United States during the week that ended with March 7th. It’s a figure that also brings the song up from No. 9 to No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart. The pairing also enjoyed an additional 28,000 registered downloads, an impressive number in today’s streaming age, earning it a second consecutive week at No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart.

The track also makes significant moves in radio airplay, entering the top 10 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, moving 12-9 after a 13 percent increase with an audience of 16.9 million. It becomes Bruno’s ninth top 10 on that chart and Cardi’s 12th.

At the moment, Cardi boasts three additional songs in the airplay chart’s top 10 with her “Money” still sitting at No. 1 for the seventh consecutive week while City Girls’ “Twerk” and Pardison Fontaine’s “Backin’ It Up,” on which she holds featured apperances, claim No. 5 and No. 7, respectively.

She repeats history and is still the only woman to hold four songs in the top 10 of the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart in a single week, previously doing so last year with “Finesse,” “Bartier Cardi,” “Motorsport,” with Nicki Minaj and Migos, and G-Eazy’s “No Limit” with A$AP Rocky.
