Dame Dash Faces $7 Million Defamation Lawsuit

Josh Webber is suing Dame Dash for $7 million.

These days, it’s rare to see Dame Dash’s name pop up in a positive headline. The man has been so influential over the years but for some reason, he continues to find himself in legal drama. At the beginning of this month, he turned himself in for child support warrants and just a day later, Dash accused Topson Downs of stealing $6 million from him. Now, the Roc-a-Fella co-founder finds himself in another sticky situation because of things he has said on social media.

According to The Blast, Dame Dash is facing a $7 million lawsuit for defamation. Filmmaker Josh Webber came up with that number based on the number of social followers Dame has. Webber is saying that he lost a $6 million investment after Dash made some controversial comments online, directly causing an unnamed partner to step out of a deal.

As reported by Complex, Damon Dash was sued earlier this year by Webber and Muddy Water Pictures after the executive claimed to be responsible for Dear Frank, a film he was fired from after reportedly being high on set. Dash is now referring to Webber as a “culture vulture,” which is something that he regularly reverts to when it comes to his rivals.

Webber believes that he is entitled to most of the money he is suing Dash for. The way the suit is laid out, the filmmaker is asking for $6.84 million for himself and an extra $565K for his company.
