Danny Trejo Weighs in on Chris Rock’s Jada Joke: Old Ladies & Abuelitas Are Off Limits!
The week following Will Smith’s infamous slap of Chris Rock at this year’s Oscar Award ceremony is finally about to reach its conclusion. Since the aforementioned incident, people from all walks of life have chimed in, from celebrities like DaBaby and Jim Carrey to news anchors at some of the most prominent outlets in the world.
In a recent interview on The Cruz Show (via Real 92.3 LA), actor Danny Trejo recently gave his opinion on the joke that prompted a loathsome slap from Will Smith. The 77-year-old Los Angeles native offered up a perspective about how the manner in which Chris Rock made fun of Jada Smith’s bald head. He also touched on the dos and don’ts of talking about another man’s loved ones.
“[Chris Rock] should know, you don’t say nothing about somebody’s old lady,” Trejo said. “You know what I mean? That’s simple. Old lady’s, abuelitas or kids! You know what I mean? Me, if I see a lady with hair like that, I won’t say nothing because I’m thinking it’s cancer…Especially if you’re from the hood. You gotta know…”
