Davido reacts to viral video of lady who turned down a proposal from her boyfriend

A video of a gentleman whose proposal to his girlfriend at Onitsha Shoprite was turned down has surfaced on social media and is fast going viral.

The lady – a wife-to-be if she had said YES – walked out on her boyfriend as he openly proposed to her in the shopping mall while shoppers stood by to stare.

After careful scrutiny of the video, many Nigerians adduced that a song which was playing in the background at the time of the proposal titled ‘Dead and Gone’, may have ruined what was supposed to be a romantic exchange.

Reacting to the video, Afropop singer Davido appears to side with the public opinion as he has also faulted the song in a comment.

The singer wrote: ”Background music ain’t make the situation better at all.”

While many Nigerians are throwing shades at the lady in question for humiliating her boyfriend in public, others support her for not subjecting herself to pressure from the public to accept the proposal.
