Ghanaian singer and rapper Darryl Paa Kwesi Bannerman-Martin famously known as Joey B has disclosed that Ghanaian artistes are lagging behind because of selfishness and unwillingness to share their spotlight.

In a recent interview with Amansan Krakye on Radio Central, he bemoaned the mindset of some Ghanaian artistes and wished he could change them for the better.

“The artists have some mindset, I will go alone. I didn’t reach anywhere with my music career and I brought Pappy Kojo out. I could have decided to have my shine alone. Even King Promise, La Me Gang and co are all my people, sometimes I take them to shows. I always want to share my spotlight but some Ghanaian artistes want to go alone”, he complained.

The “Tonga” hitmaker also revealed that the Nigerian artists are willing to help each other that’s why they are able to rock big shows around the world but Ghanaian artistes will continue to play local shows because of selfishness.

“If I get the chance today, I’m pulling all my people with me. I will make sure the world will hear Ghanaian music. I won’t go alone to enjoy. That’s why the Nigerians are moving. Did you see how Davido sold out at 02 Arena, Nigerians are getting big because they don’t divide to conquer, they are all going and that’s how it’s supposed to be. We will continue to play Kumasi shows saa, its good solidify your home grounds but after that you have to take it abroad. When I get the chance I will show everyone how it’s done. I’m pulling everyone with me”, he added.
