Ghanaian hiplife artiste and rapper, Obrafour, has said that the president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) must not be a musician but a business-minded person.

Obrafuor told Nana Kwesi Asare in an interview on Class91.3FM’s ‘The Big Show’ on Saturday, 16 March 2019 that he does not have any plans of becoming the president of the union of musicians, adding that whoever gets elected to that position must be business-minded.

“I don’t have any plans of becoming the president of MUSIGA. I have never thought of that. This is what I have been saying: I think somebody outside the musicians [union] should be the president.”

He explained that: “Someone who has a business IQ, somebody who knows how to organise [should be the president]. I think we should look for such people, not musicians”.

“The fact that someone has been successful in music doesn’t mean that person should be the president; that is what I believe. Someone outside should be the president”, Obrafuor insisted.
