‘God forbid!’ – Adekunle Gold rejects comparison with R. Kelly
Some decades ago, American R&B star R. Kelly was an inspiration to many musician and he was often cited as a major influence in their career.
But since he became embroiled child molestation accusations, no one wants to be associated with him — his record label, friends, colleagues and even some of his own family members have disowned him.
So it came with little surprise when Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold rejected a comparison with Kelly on Twitter.
A Twitter user tweeted at Adekunle that he looked like the troubled R&B legend, however the the Afropop star found the comparison repulsive obviously because of R. Kelly’s paedophile tag on him.
“God forbid,” he replied the fan who compared him to Kelly.
