Gunna recently appeared on the most recent episode of UNINTERRUPTED’s The Shop where he discussed, among other things, the definition and origin of “P.”

Maverick Carter asked the Atlanta rapper to provide his definition and origin story of the phrase. “Man it started, and now it’s out of my hands,” he explained. “Pushin P really started at first as me just pulling up on some player, might got me a vibe with me. My homies are like, ‘Okay, you about to come back around.’ I’m doing the same one with a different type of vibe. [And it’s like], ‘You’re still going? You Pushin P, now you pushing it! Now you pushing this player sh*t.’ Now I’m tryna make sure I’m capitalizing on the P now.”

Steve Stoute asked him about the allegations that he stole the term from Oakland, to which Gunna replied, “Come to find out, they just come from player sh*t, too.”

“That’s all that means. That’s what I took from it like bro, everybody been player. Your uncles, your aunties—they was players.”
