I Have Never Regretted Not Campaigning For Nana Addo, National Cathedral Wrong Move – Afia Schwarzenegger

Afia Schwarzenegger, one of the many Ghanaian celebrities who campaigned for the opposition National Democratic Congress, who had the former president, H.E John Mahama as flagbearer, in the round up to the 2016 election has stated without mincing words that even though they were the losing side, she has not regretted and will have done same, if the hands of time were turned back to the same time.

According to her, even though she didn’t vote for President Akuffo-Addo, the many Ghanaians who voted for him, especially people in his party, the NPP, will be cursing their stars now because it has been very disastrous ever since he took over the whims of power.

Afia stated in the interaction on the ‘Uncut’ show hosted by Zionfelix that the decision to build a national cathedral for the country is one she has abstained from talking about because she does not see the sense in it.

The controversial comedienne added that she has been struggling to understand why the President will decide to build a cathedral which might only be used for the burial service of prominent personalities in the country when people are sleeping on the floors of many hospitals in the country because they cannot pay their bills.

The mother of three further stated that she finds it as absurd that a country which does not have ambulances to take care of the citizenry and as such pregnant women are conveyed to hospitals when they are due on the back of motorbikes will build a national cathedral because the president made a promise to God prior to the last election.

Even though the outspoken media personaluty expressed her bitterness towards the president and politicians for conceiving such a bad idea, she also partly blamed the youth in the country. She stressed that all these things have happened in the country because the youth have always failed to speak to power and challenge the status quo.
