NBA All-Star weekend is not only celebrated by athletes but by the rap game as well. Rappers usually have a strong presence during the All-Star Game with many of them sitting courtside. However, the rappers aren’t only there to watch the game but a few of them were tapped to perform. After Meek Mill’s fiery performance during the introduction, the NBA called on North Carolina native J. Cole to hold down the halftime show.

J. Cole, who repped the Charlotte Hornets, came through with a memorable performance during the halftime show at the NBA All-Star Game. The rapper kicked off the performance with his latest single, “Middle Child.” Cole then jumped into his verse on 21 Savage’s “a lot.” The rapper made sure to show love to 21 Savage who was recently released from ICE’s custody earlier this week after his controversial arrest on Super Bowl Sunday. Cole jumped into K.O.D highlight “ATM” afterward before getting into some older material. The rapper took a seat on a stool while he delivered a mesmerizing performance of “Love Yourz” and followed it with “No Role Modelz” to close things off.”

Last night, Cole showed face at the dunk contest. The rapper lent a hand to fellow Fayetteville native Dennis Smith Jr who rocked Cole’s high school jersey. Smith got Cole to lob him the ball during the dunk which ultimately landed him a perfect score of 50. Cole then tried to dunk himself but didn’t end up making it.

Peep J. Cole’s performance below.
