K.K Fosu names his best Artiste of the Decade

Legendary highlife musician K.K Fosu, has said, Samini deserves the Artiste of the Decade award considering his consistency in the music circles.

The 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards slated for May 18, would see music artistes honoured for their role in shaping Ghanaian music over the past decade.

According to K.K Fosu who is currently signed onto the World Map records label, the artiste of the decade should be someone who is endowed with the flawless stagecraft of performing live.

”You can’t be an artiste of the decade if your stage performance is not top class. You need to make the fans have a feel of your talent not only in the studio but on stage as well.

”For me personally, Samini has been very consistent in the music circles over the past decade and has demonstrated his splendid stagecraft at various shows both on the local and international stages as well. So I think he deserves the award,” K.K Fosu told GNA Entertainment in an interview.

The nominee list for this year’s artiste of the decade category include Becca, Efya, Okyeme Kwame, No Tribe and Nacee, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, Samini, Sarkodie and R2Bees.

Veteran Ghanaian musician, Kojo Antwi, was named the artiste of the decade at the Ghana Music Awards back 2009.
