Kevin Hart’s appearance on Ellen Degeneres’ television show was welcomed by many and criticized by others. CNN’s Don Lemon took time to break down why the comedian’s mea culpa was half-baked if not totally inexistent. Hart appears to respond to Lemon, or at least those who share his opinion, with his latest Instagram post. The comedian uploaded a text that focuses on the importance of allowing people to grow, regardless of the field they navigate.

“Basketball players aren’t great until they LEARN how to play the game correctly. Teachers are great teachers when they LEARN how to get thru to kids correctly, ” he wrote, going on to include several different professions. He concludes the post, “A news anchor or journalist does not start at the top…they have to LEARN to develop to be great at their job.”

Kevin Hart Shares Message Of Growth Amid Oscars Debacle

In the caption, Hart wrote, “When did we get to the point where we forgot that we all learn, then we all have the ability to grow and with that growth comes a wealth of knowledge. You can’t change without a understanding of what GROWTH means.”

Parts of the LGBTQ community are ready to forgive him, along with Ellen. “From when this news first broke, GLAAD said Kevin Hart should not step down from the Oscars, he should step up and send an unequivocal message of acceptance to LGBTQ youth that matches the force and impact of his initial anti-LGBTQ remarks,” said GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis.
