LIL WAYNE SHOCKED BY COLORADO UNIVERSITY’S FOOTBALL LOCKER ROOM DURING DEION SANDERS TOUR

BOULDER, CO – Lil Wayne took a trip to the University of Colorado this week to visit new football head coach Deion Sanders, and he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
The two-time Super Bowl champion posted a video on Instagram on Wednesday (February 1) showing him giving Weezy and his entourage a personal tour of the team’s state-of-the-art facilities. The Young Money rapper was shown around the weight room, indoor training field, media room and other areas, but it was the team’s locker room that left his jaw on the floor.

“Oh, this the locker room? This the fucking locker room? C’mon man!” Wayne remarked while looking around in shock at the enormous, upscale space. “It’ll be hard for a n-gga to feel bad after a loss up in here. I’m telling you that right now.”

“This is @liltunechi reaction to seeing the locker room for the first time,” Sanders wrote in his Instagram caption along with crying face emojis.

Deion Sanders was made head coach of the University of Colorado football program in December 2022. Before that, he served as the head coach at Jackson State for two years, leading the team to two consecutive Celebration Bowl appearances and the first undefeated regular season in school history.

Lil Wayne isn’t the only Hip Hop figure who has visited Coach Sanders over the years. In 2021, Gillie Da Kid unintentionally earned Sanders and his Jackson State football team an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for celebrating too much on the sidelines during a game.

As for Wayne, he’s an avid Green Bay Packers fan and good friends with sports journalist Skip Bayless. In December, the New Orleans native was a guest on ESPN’s Manningcast broadcast of his beloved Packers’ regular season game against the Los Angeles Rams alongside Eli and Peyton Manning.

During the show, Tunechi was shown a video of Eli channeling his inner-rapper as part of a recent New York Giants remix of Fivio Foreign’s “1 On 3.” The clip found the 41-year-old spitting some bars in the studio while rocking a yellow designer outfit and gold Cuban link chain.

“First of all, Eli, when I saw that, I just saw a picture of that first,” Wayne explained after struggling to find the right words to describe his reaction. “When I saw the picture, I was like, ‘Wait, is this how Eli really dress in his off time for real?’

“I didn’t know what was going on. I saw the Cuban around your neck. I’m glad I actually saw a video of what that was all about. But you killed it. You killed it. Yeah, you killed that.”

On the music side, Lil Wayne is gearing up to hit the road this spring on the Welcome To Tha Carter Tour, which he announced earlier this week. The 28-city trek kicks off in Minneapolis on April 4 and wraps up in Los Angeles on May 13, with stops in Chicago, Toronto, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston and San Francisco along the way.

Weezy has also been teasing the release of his new album Tha Carter 6, which he revealed was “coming soon” during his appearance at Drake’s October World Weekend Festival last August.
