Mercy Aigbe threatens to sue blogger ‘for spreading falsehood’ about her daughters upkeep

Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has disclosed that she has instituted a legal action against a blogger, who is fond of “spreading falsehood” about her family.

According to the mother-of-two, her action follows allegations the unnamed person recently made regarding her posts on Mother’s Day, which she celebrated being both the father and the mother of her lovely children.

Mercy Aigbe, in the post on her Instagram account, pronounced herself a badass mum for single-handedly taking care of her kids for 18 years.

“It takes only a Bad Ass Mom to be both Father and Mother,” she said adding, “Almost 18 years now and it has been nothing but God’s amazing grace!… I miss you @michelleio__ 

Despite receiving praise from her over 5 million followers, for being a great single parent, Mercy Aigbe found fault with one particular comment, which she noted was from a blogger.

The unidentified writer is said to have suggested that the actress lied about claiming to have solely taken care of her children all these years, revealing that her ex-husband and father of her daughter Michelle Aigbe, has been sending money for her upkeep.

While disclosing that she has instructed her lawyers to write to the blogger, mercy held that she would not sit aloof for an “unprofessional, lazy, clout chasing blogger try to paint me bad”

Mercy dared the blogger to “come out with proof or face the consequences” of spewing falsehood.

She wrote: “This afternoon, I instructed my lawyer to write a blogger, who has made it in his/her life mission, to spread falsehood about me.

“The latest, being that the father of my daughter has been sending money for her upkeep. This lie is in response to the post I made on mother’s day.

“I could have allowed this lie to slide but henceforth, I have made a decision to challenge every form of falsehood. I know like many media people, this particular blogger might not take me serious. They believe there will be no consequence for spreading false news or if they beg, all will be well.

“I’m putting it out here to let you know that this particular blogger lied. In the past 18 years I have been solely responsible for the upkeep of my daughter…. if the blogger believes otherwise, he/she should come out with Proof or face the consequences!

“I will not toil day and night to give my children the best in life and have one unprofessional, lazy, clout chasing blogger try to paint me Bad.

“For the records, I will be pursuing this to a legal logical conclusion and challenge every form of falsehood henceforth.”
