Nana Addo sends 2 more envoys 5

President Akufo-Addo issued letters of credence to two new ambassadors Harriet Sena Siaw Boateng and Jennifer Lartey yesterday to represent the country’s interest in Brussels, Belgium and Oslo, Norway respectively.

Mrs Boateng also has added responsibility to serve as Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the European Union (EU).

After administering the oaths of office, secrecy and allegiance at the Jubilee House yesterday, the President charged the two envoys to prioritise the country’s interests in the accredited countries.

“You are the most visible symbol of our country out there, and in all your actions you must guard jealously our country’s image, and I am confident that this is a charge that both of you will uphold,” the President said.

He, however, expressed confidence in the appointees and attested to their competence when he had the opportunity to work with them as Foreign Minister under the previous Kufour administration.

Mrs. Harriet Sena Siaw Boateng said they are aware of the president’s commitment to bring prosperity to Ghana.

She, therefore, assured the president that they would work with unwavered sense of commitment and humility in order to complement his efforts in transforming Ghana from a raw material producing country into an industrialised one.

“We will work as your ambassadors with all sectors of the economy, both public and private, towards fulfilling the aims and objectives of the government and of your vision of a “Ghana Beyond Aid,” she added.
