NASA InSight Lander Touches Down On Mars: Report

We are on the Red Planet.

When you look back at how much progress the human race has made in the last several decades, it’s amazing. Humans wandered around the Earth on ground level from the beginning of our existence until 1903, when the Wright Brothers aimed for the skies. As a race, we’ve moved rapidly since then. It took thousands and thousands of years for us to create planes. Then, only 60 years later, the Soviets sent the first man into space. From there, it took only a few decades for man to send probes out to Mars, Saturn, and beyond. On Monday (November 26), NASA landed their Insight Mission on Mars, furthering the human races’ push to understand the cosmos.”Today, we successfully landed on Mars for the eighth time in human history,” NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine stated. “InSight will study the interior of Mars and will teach us valuable science as we prepare to send astronauts to the Moon and later to Mars. This accomplishment represents the ingenuity of America and our international partners, and it serves as a testament to the dedication and perseverance of our team. The best of NASA is yet to come, and it is coming soon.” The lander will explore the area of Mars we know the least about, the deep interior. It will remain on Mars on a mission for two years to dig and reveal as much as possible about the planet’s history. Check out footage of the landing below.
