Eric Holder Jr. has been accused of shooting and killing Nipsey Hussle outside of the late rapper’s Marathon Clothing store in 2019.

Nipsey Hussle’s alleged killer will go on trial for murder in June.

According to FOX 11 in Los Angeles, a judge confirmed the trial is scheduled to begin on June 2. Prosecutors accuse Eric Holder Jr. of killing Nipsey Hussle outside of the West Coast artist’s Marathon Clothing store in 2019.

Holder, 32, was arrested just a few days after the shooting. A grand jury indicted him on one count each of murder and possession of a firearm by a felon as well as two counts each of attempted murder and assault with a firearm.

Prosecutors say Holder confronted Nipsey Hussle, whose real name was Ermias Joseph Asghedom, over snitching allegations.

“Apparently, the conversation had something to do with Mr. Asghedom telling Mr. Holder that word on the street was that Mr. Holder was snitching,” prosecutors told the grand jury. “The conversation wasn’t particularly intense, it wasn’t particularly belligerent, and it lasted for about four minutes.”

The situation escalated when Holder returned to the store’s parking lot and shot Nipsey Hussle multiple times. Deputy Medical Examiner Lawrence Nguyen said the late rapper suffered 11 gunshot wounds.

Holder has remained in jail since his 2019 arrest. He pleaded not guilty to all of the charges in the Nipsey Hussle murder case.
