Security Expert, Adam Bonah has urged the Police to prosecute Dancehall Artiste, Stonebwoy for brandishing a gun in public during the 20th edition of the VGMAs at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).

Stonebwoy was seen on national TV pulling a gun on stage during the melee between him and his rival, Shatta Wale and had to be restrained by his handlers.

Both artistes spent the night in Police cells following their detention by the Accra Regional Police Command over the gun incident on the VGMA stage Sunday.

The programmed was marred by a brawl between the two musicians after Shatta Wale and his followers stormed the stage when Stonebwoy was declared as Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year.

Police say charges are yet to be preferred against the two since investigations are ongoing.

But Mr.Adam Bonah in an interview with host Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Anopa Kasapa on Kssapa 102.5 FM said the famous Dancehall Artist should be arraigned before court to serve as a deterrent to others on such notoriety taking over the industry.

“…If he gets maybe a month in prison and its comes out, his followers- the Shatta Wale followers, then Shatta Wale will know he’s the next candidate for prison, If he has a gun and he will want to display it or use it in a manner that this young man did on that stage….” he told kasapa Fm.

Meanwhile. Adam Bonah says Organizers of the Vofadone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) Charterhouse Productions together with the Police should be blamed for the security breaches and disturbances that rocked the event.

Stonebwoy Apology

Reggae/Dancehall artiste of the year Stonebwoy has apologised to Ghanaians for pulling a gun on stage at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

“I’m sorry for the incident that happened earlier. I only had to react out of natural instincts because we all know how premeditative some people can be. We’ve seen on social media the threats and everything, so, we couldn’t come in unprepared because anything could have happened as you guys saw. I come in peace and I go in peace and I apologise to the whole of Ghana…” Stonebwoy said on stage when he picked his second award of the night after the show had resumed.
