Tekashi 6ix9ine’s former manager is sitting behind bars along with the rapper and other alleged members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. The trial for gun and racketeering charges is expected to start in September, but several of the defendants have been having trouble with their legal representation including Shotti. However, it looks like he’s found a new lawyer who happens to be representing one of the biggest alleged drug lords in the world.

According to Complex, Shotti will be represented by El Chapo’s attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman in his ongoing trial for racketeering and guns charges. Shotti, along with 6ix9ine and other alleged members of Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, has been accused of drug trafficking as well as committing armed robberies. Lichtman has previously represented John Gotti Jr., The Game, Fat Joe, and Shannade Clermont of the Clermont Twins.

The addition of Lichtman comes a few weeks after Shotti relieved his former lawyer, Scott E. Leemon, of counsel. Leemon asked to be removed from representing Shotti after claiming he never received a retainer fee for his services.

Lichtman is expected to appear in court on Jan. 22nd with Shotti where the former manager and his co-defendants — including 6ix9ine — will attempt to get released on bail, according to DJ Akademiks. Towards the end of 2018, Tekashi 6ix9ine offered the court a bail package that includes $1.5M.
