There’s no beef between Medikal and I – Kuami Eugene 5

Notable artist Kuami Eugene insists that he and fellow rapper Medikal are all good following his comment on Medikal’s “Omo Ada” song.

The Lynx Entertainment signee said that Medikal’s new song “Omo Ada” (Dem sleep) was stupid, adding that he was surprised about how people were taking jabs at him.

Speaking on “One on One with Merqury Quaye” on Hitz FM, Kuami Eugene said he was not insulting the rapper but it was only a playful comment. “Mme and Medikal are like that,” he commented.

In a video posted over the weekend, Kuami Eugene said Medikal likes making useless songs.

When he shared the video, he captioned it “@amgmedikal Dey understand this Game Pass. I sing this song since I first hear am. And I can’t stop #OmoAda. Where are some of our bloggers. Go change my caption for attention.”

Kuami Eugene explained Medikal told him in a chat that Ghanaians interest in danceable songs was an influence when creating the song.

“I sent him the video I made first and he laughed and said our country [people] love to dance so you can’t do away with danceable songs,” he added.

He said many people do not understand or know the story behind the what they are seeing “I did not understand how a lot of people wanted to jab me. Medikal and I are playing with each other.”

He said he and the AMG rapper are cool and have about three songs they are yet to release.

Kuami Eugene after social media reaction to his comment was seen singing one of the songs he and Medikal have worked on. The caption read “Now That We’ve Got Their Attention, When Make We Drop Am? #Still #OmoAda. @djnoreuk @AmgMedikal.”

However, this is not the first time Kuami Eugene has been criticised for his comment about a colleague’s song.

In 2018, the artist was roasted on social media after he said Patapaa’s songs were noise and not music.

The “Wish me Well” singer in a video apologised and said it was not his intention to disrespect Patapaa but the two have a good relationship where they play and make fun of each other.

He explained Patapaa teases him about making too many wedding songs and he in turn teases him on doing too many noisy songs.
