‘Toddlers & Tiaras’ Star From Viral “Grinning Girl” GIF Passes Away at 16

Kailia Posey, a former participant in the hit reality show, Toddlers & Tiaras, recently passed away at the age of 16.

She was first introduced to a national audience back in 2012 when she appeared in an episode of the TLC series titled “California Tropic Arizona.” It was during that same season that Posey made a legendary grin into the camera that would go on to become a beloved meme and GIF shared amongst people all over social media.

As Posey grew into her teens, she attended Lynden High School where she made the dean’s list in 2020-2021. If Posey had been able to complete high school, she likely would have studied aviation in college with the hopes of becoming a pilot someday. The last beauty contest that she participated in was the Miss Teen Washington pageant.

As of now, the cause of death for the famous teen is yet to be released. Her mother, Marcy Posey Gatterman, recently took to Facebook in order to acknowledge the public and honor her child.

“I don’t have words or any thoughts,” Gatterman said. “A beautiful baby girl is gone. Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever.”
