No surprises here, one of the figures targetted in Joyner Lucas’ “Devil’s Work” music video has issued a response to the rapper’s controversial clip, yet another one to add to the wall for the Connecticut-bred emcee. In “Devil’s Work,” Joyner Lucas pleads with God, bargaining to bring back fallen musicians such as Tupac, Michael Jackson, and Nipsey Hussle in place to those deemed to be less desirable by his standards such as Donald Trump, Suge Knight, and Tomi Lahren.

At on point, Lucas makes a direct reference to Lahren and conservative pundit Laura Ingraham. A shot shows both women’s portraits adorned by funeral flowers as Lucas raps: “”I pray you give us back the real ones and try again/Or maybe take them niggas that deserve to die instead/Tomi Lahren run her mouth and then she get defensive/Laura Ingraham laughin’ at death and disrespectin’/I really feel like you should teach them stupid hoes a lesson/Either that or give us back somebody who deserve the blessings.”

Lahren has since responded to the name drop, penning a brief tweet, “Truly disgusting. You don’t have to like me or respect me but this is too far. This isn’t ‘art’ it’s sick.”

Naturally, Joyner took the jab as a prime marketing opportunity, reposting a screenshot of the message to Instagram, captioning it with a shrugging emoji, directing his followers to click the “link in the bio.”
