VRA to investigate death of Islamic cleric at Aboadze

Management of the Volta Regional Authority Hospital says it will investigate the death of an Islamic cleric at its facility in Aboadze.

Yusif Abdulai 38, is said to have died at the VRA Hospital shortly after health officials denied him care for not having an NHIA card.

The deceased was playing soccer with his colleagues on the Aboadze community park when he collapsed.

He was rushed to the VRA hospital for treatment but reports suggest health officials on duty demanded his NHIS card before he would be attended to.

The management has, however, has expressed their condolence and plans to set up a committee to investigate the allegations leveled against the hospital.
