Amber Heard’s legal team was not happy with the verdict of Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit.

According to Heard’s legal team, there is an appeal plan after the jury backed Johnny Depp’s victory.

Legal appeals can take years. Nevertheless, there are questions about Heard’s possible appeal.

Several experts believed the verdict contradicted Johnny Depp’s case.

The seven-person jury granted Depp $15 million in total damages. However, the jury punished Depp with $2 million to Amber Heard after a lawyer stated that her case was a hoax.

The verdict affirmed that Heard’s case was not false.

The final verdict turned into a confusing decision because of the damages that Heard will claim.

What are Amber Heard’s chances to win the appeal?

According to experts, it is difficult to win a legal appeal.

“Anyone appealing has an uphill battle,” said Rebekah Sullivan, a Washington, D.C. attorney who focuses on family law to Time Magazine.

If Amber Heard and her legal team decide to appeal, the resolution can take many years. However, she should appeal because there’s an immense amount of money to pay.

“It’s a long, expensive process,” mentioned David Ring, a Los Angeles civil trial lawyer.”

“When you’re facing a $15 million judgment, you certainly have to probably pursue that.

Having the TV cameras didn’t help Amber Heard. She’s not a loved figure by the public, and it was more a show than a trial.

Leaving the tv out of the appeal could change the situation.

“I would expect the appellate portion of the case, where the audience is judges, to focus more on legal arguments and a lot less on the theatrics that we saw in the trial where the audience was a jury,” said Rebekah Sullivan.

Legal experts gave no answer about Amber Heard’s chances to win the appeal. They have diverse opinions.

Nevertheless, in their testimony to Time, they all agree the appeal is an obligated step.
