The President of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey has reacted to musician Kelvyn Boy’s request to create a category for Afrobeat in the award schemes.

According to Mark Okraku Mantey, the ‘Nana Ama’ hitmaker is just fighting for his own interest and that he has no case in calling for Afrobeat to be added to the award scheme.

He added that apart from Kelyvn Boy and few other musicians, he is not aware of any other person doing Afrobeats in Ghana.

He further stated that Kelvyn Boy just wants to win an award which is why he is campaigning for that to happen.

The President of the Creative Arts Council also added that there is an Afropop category in the award scheme so adding Afrobeat is not in the right direction since they all mean the same.

The Burniton Music signee for some time now has been campaigning for Afrobeat to be added to award scheme in Ghana.
