Britney Spears could be expected to unleash a bombshell memoir in the near future. Words on the street are, the “Hold It Against Me” hitmaker would tell all in a “brutally honest” book that “will shake the world,” and it was alleged to be hitting the shelves in the fall of 2023.

On Thursday, April 13, Page Six reported that the 41-year-old pop star would open up about her most vulnerable moments through the upcoming memoir. In it, she would share shocking details of her past relationship with singer ex Justin Timberlake among other revelations.

“Britney’s book is a story of triumph. It will cover her most vulnerable moments, her childhood – being a little girl with big dreams – her break-up with Justin Timberlake, the moment she shaved her head, and her battle with her family over her conservatorship,” a source told the outlet.

The “Womanizer” hitmaker’s tome was further described as “a story of survival, finding her way out of the crippling conservatorship to finding happiness with her husband Sam Asghari.” The source added, “Britney’s book is brutally honest and from the heart. No stone is left unturned. Its truly a female empowerment story – her taking control of her life.”

On how Britney’s book would be relatable to other women, a second source stated, “This book is a gift….There are parts of this book that every person – particularly every woman – can relate to and feel less alone. She transforms joy and pain into something transcendent: art.”

“This is an inspiring read, not only because it shows the strength of Britney’s spirit, but because her story is told with such style, wit, intelligence, honesty, and without any self-pity. She is entirely winning in these pages,” the source went on. “This book will….shake the world. I believe that it will also be a groundbreaking instant bestseller.”

In writing the memoir, Britney worked together with ghostwriter Sam Lansky, who is a well-known journalist and novelist. Sam has previously worked with her fellow stars Adele, Nicki Minaj, Madonna and has contributed to several magazines including New York Magazine, The Atlantic and Time.

Britney also teamed up with publisher Simon & Schuster which was claimed to be “thrilled” over her upcoming book.

Britney and her ex Justin were known to be dating from 1999 to 2002. In 2002, Justin added fuels to rumors suggesting Britney had cheated on him when he featured a Britney lookalike in his music video for “Cry Me a River”.

Around 19 years later, Justin apologized to Britney via Instagram Story. “I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right. I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism,” he wrote.

“I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed. I also feel compelled to respond, in part, because everyone involved deserves better and most importantly, because this is a larger conversation that I wholeheartedly want to be part of and grow from,” he added.
