A$ap Rocky criticizes Will Smith for slapping Chris Rock
N.O.R.E and DJ EFN hosted podcast Drinks Champs’ latest guests are Harlem-based Rapper A$ap Rocky and RnB singer Tank. In the latest preview from the upcoming episode, the hosts have touched on the most recent fiasco involving Hollywood actors Will Smith and Chris Rock which went down at the Oscars last Sunday.
A$ap Rocky addressed the issue by first stating that he’s a fan of all the parties involved Chris Rock, Will Smith, and Jada Pinkett Smith. On Will Smith slapping the Oscar presenter and comedian Chris Rock, A$ap Rocky said “I think it’s unfortunate that he emasculated another black man in front of all of them people.” Rocky also believed that something else was going on behind Will Smith’s outburst “I do think that there’s some built up shit that probably that wasn’t really targeted at Chris Rock” said Rocky adding that it might more than just a G.I. Jane joke.
Since the incident went down at the Oscars live show a lot has been said by other celebrities and media. Just yesterday Will Smith who has already apologized to Chris Rock and the Oscars himself has resigned from The Academy stating that he’s “heartbroken” cause of the incident and wants to “focus on celebrating other artists’ achievements”.
Meanwhile, another guest appearing in the Drink Champs episode, Tanks has stated that “We have seen some crazier jokes, but sometimes it’s a straw that breaks camel’s back”. Check out the preview from the episode below:
