Confusion temporarily halts VGMA nominees jam

It was all fun and excitement at the Kumasi City Mall Saturday night until some patrons at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) nominees jam decided to take things into their own hands and cause some confusion.

At about 11:40pm just when VGMA unsung category nominee Efe Keyz was wrapping up her performance after several of her colleagues and underground artistes had performed, some of the patrons were seen pushing each other within the crowd.

The situation caused many of the patrons who were all on their feet jamming to trip and fall.

The pushing caused the crowd to surge forward, pulling down the barricades between the crowd and the stage.

For a little over an hour, there was discomfort due to pushing and tumbling within the crowd.

The situation forced organizers to halt the show for security personnel present to restore calm.

At about 12:55am Sunday morning, calm was restored and the show continued with performances from Yaa Pono, Flow King Stone, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
