Elon Musk on ‘Rings of Power’ and it’s lack of masculinity: ‘Tolkien is turning in his grave’

Elon Musk has a weird take on the ‘Rings of Power’ show

Elon Musk is a bonafide geek who grew up with both the ‘Lord of the Rings’ films and the entire Middle Earth literature from J.R.R. Tolkien. He also has an ongoing beef with billionaire Jeff Bezos, who is the one who bought the rights to create Amazon Prime’s ‘Rings of Power’ show. Fans have already been complaining about the show’s storytelling but Elon Musk took his critique a bit further by airing his toxic masculinity.

The Tesla CEO complained about male characters and the lack of male heroes in the show. He specifically talked about how the only true hero is Galadriel while missing the point of the show’s premise. In the story, the main plan was to tell the story from Galadriel’s perspective. She is the main character in this story but Elon Musk doesn’t think Tolkien would like this representation of his literature.

Tolkien would be turning in his grave’

Initially, Musk responded why he doesn’t like this new Amazon show by simply stating how Tolkien would react to the first two episodes. When he decided to explain his initial reaction, Musk showed his true colors. In recent years, Elon has turned from an apparently liberal person to one the the Republican party’s fiercest defenders. One of the latest clues is the way he expresses himself about a woman lead in the ‘Rings of Power‘ show.

It’s only been two episodes, man, give the showrunners a chance to keep telling the story. After that, you can make a proper critique. This is what Musk said: “J.R.R. Tolkien is turning in his grave. Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart and nice.”

It’s hard to ignore the ongoing feud Elon Musk has with Jeff Bezos, this completely makes his opinion one-sided and subjective. The show itself has shown some interesting and memorable male characters, Elon Musk just refuses to see them. ‘Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power‘ streams every Friday on Amazon Prime.
