Female musicians in Ghana can only establish successfully by luck – Sista Afia asserts (Video)
Ghanaian songstress, Francesca Duncan Williams, better known as Sista Afia has joined the myriad of female musicians who have expressed their immense dissatisfaction about the nature of the Ghanaian music industry.
According to the ‘Jeje’ hitmaker, in an interview with Kwame Adjetia on Neat FM’s “Entertainment Ghana”, though a female musician in Ghana can build on a great deal of effort or endurance to achieve a solid brand in the industry, but luck is the major key to bring one’s desired objective.
It could be recalled that the curvaceous Ghanaian singer called on individuals and top record labels who are financially sound and serious about signing artists to look her way as she is broke.
Sista Afia disclosed that ever since she made her big breakthrough in the music industry some years ago, every financial investment in her career is one that has come from the coffers of her family and the proceeds from the songs she has been releasing, a move which has not been easy on her.
The Boss of “Slay Nation” in the interview stressing on female artists blowing big time added that Ghanaian female artists need to put up more efforts towards their career as luck is associated with hardworking and determination.
“I think you have to master the game and do your very best to push harder because you never know when your luck will shine. The more you work hard, the luck comes by itself. Some artists just release one song and it suddenly becomes a hit,” she said.

Sista Afia, when asked of society’s perception about female musicians being a symbol of s£x, she admitted and concluded that it’s a worldwide norm for almost every lady in the industry and nothing can be done about it.
