Flaunting luxury cars, ‘marrying’ a man thrice her age; how teenage actor, Regina Daniels is coming of age
It’s been weeks of a spate of speculations, denials, defences and an apparent unperturbed posture as teen actress Regina Daniels bounced back to prominence following her acquisition of cars and a mansion for the mother.
The Nollywood star who is eighteen first caused a stir when she flaunted two posh cars and a building all within a month. Although Regina Daniels has starred in many movies and received payments for her services, there were arguments she couldn’t have acquired the properties through her relatively meagre earnings.
Alleged marriage to billionaire Nwoko
As people wondered where her source of wealth could be, rumours ran rife she was being ‘sponsored’ by Prince Ned Nwoko, a 59-year-old former House of Representatives Member from Idumuje-Ugboko in Anioma North, Delta State and would soon be his sixth wife.
Reports further suggested that Mr. Nwoko, a lawyer, businessman, politician and a father to many children had been spending some quality time with the actress at his plush resort located at his hometown, Idumuje-Ugboko.
In fact, there were allegations Regina Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels knows about the amorous relationship between her daughter and Mr. Nwoko but is unperturbed as she’s been a beneficiary of his gestures.
Nwoko was said to have gone to see the family of Regina Daniels for an introduction ceremony – an event which was organised low-key with participants barred from taking pictures.
The denial
Although Ms Daniels reacted via Instagram, calling for an end to the rumours, an aide to Nwoko would not confirm the marriage claims but stated in an interview that his boss “is of royal blood and he is entitled to as many wives as he desires. He is a devout Moslem and he is entitled to more than a wife.”
Daniels deepened speculations as she flaunted several cars afterwards. They included a Ferrari, and Lamborghini.
What really got people talking, was when she was spotted in a private jet with a ring on her middle finger. According to rumours, these pictures were taken while she was on her honeymoon in Dubai.
Strong defence
In the wake of the barrage of criticisms, Daniels’ brother, Lawrence and actress Etinosa Idemudia mounted a spirited defence for her. For Etinosa, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Daniels being a 6th wife as she is still honoured with a ring.
She argued: “What are you people saying? The man honoured her. It’s not like some other ones who are doing sidechicks that only get indomi and egg. Even if she is 6th wife, it is better than some of the girls that are 47th sidechicks.”
For Lawrence, the concerns from the public were immaterial. Sharing a picture of her sister on Instagram, he said: “AMA keep showing you off honey. Na them go talk talk talk na them go tire to talk.”
In another post, Lawrence taunted critics by posting a picture of himself and his sister in a private jet with the caption “Wait for more.”
Well, it does appear there is more to come as Regina Daniels has just flaunted a Mercedes Brabus.
