From Bianca to Kim, Julia and Amber: A look at all the partners Kanye West has tried to change – and how far he managed to push it
Kanye West has had his fair share of romantic relationships while in the public eye.
His behaviour with his partners has come under scrutiny, with accusations he has been ‘controlling’ in his current relationship with wife Bianca Censori.
The rapper, also known as Ye, is said to have banned the Australian beauty from using social media and she only wears the clothes he wants.
His ex-wife Kim Kardashian previously claimed Kanye reduced her to tears after he threw out all of her clothes he didn’t like.
Meanwhile, his former girlfriend Julia Fox admitted to feeling like a ‘show monkey’ while dating him while his other ex Amber Rose has branded him a ‘bully’.
MailOnline takes a look back at all the times Kanye has tried to change his exes – and how far he managed to push it.
Bianca Censori
Kanye has been accused of exhibiting controlling behaviour in his relationship with Bianca.
He is thought to have banned her from using social media to protect her from negative comments, according to insiders, who claim her friends believe it’s really another tactic to further ‘isolate’ her.
Despite the architectural designer’s loved ones even staging an intervention concerning her relationship with the rapper and his ‘controlling ways,’ her husband appears to have changed her attitude towards social media.
‘Bianca has always had social media and she was active on it – until she married Kanye,’ an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com.
‘He doesn’t want her to have it because he thinks that it will hurt her if she had to read the nasty things that people say.
‘He convinced her that, since she is a star now, she has to remain a mystery and it is creepy to those who know her as it feels like another form of control.’
However, friends have taken issue with the fact the rapper, who goes by the name Ye, is posting racy images of his wife on his own Instagram account – despite allegedly claiming she needs protection.
The insider added: ‘He is pushing her nakedness all over his own [account] so that he can control her narrative. It is disturbing, and by shutting her off from the world he is causing her to become more and more isolated.’
Friends are said to be stunned to see the usually assertive designer going along with Kanye’s demands as the source stressed: ‘This strong Bianca that was not going to deal with his s*** anymore has seemingly vanished once again.
‘She is wearing what he wants, going where he wants and doing what he wants because she really has no other choice. She went from being his designer to his wife, which is unfortunately, not a paid position. She’s trapped.’
Back in October, DailyMail.com revealed that the Grammy-winning rapper had instructed his wife to ‘never speak’ – and issued her a set of rules to live by, including specific foods she can eat and what she can wear.
Insiders claimed the designer has ‘no mind of her own anymore’ and instead simply ‘obeys’ the controversial rapper, because he has convinced her they have ‘royal’ status.
‘Kanye has a set of rules for Bianca, which includes never speak and wear what he wants her to wear,’ the source explained. ‘She is also required to eat certain food items and to work out even though Kanye doesn’t work out.’
Bianca and Kanye secretly wed in December 2022, just one month after he finalized his divorce from Kim Kardashian.
Julia Fox

Kanye had a highly publicised relationship with the actress Julia Fox in January 2022, with the pair dating for just over a month.
However, the rapper managed to exert his influence over the Uncut Gems star during that time.
On their second date, he reportedly bought her an entirely new wardrobe of clothes, and, according to Julia, encouraged her what to wear and how to styler her hair.
In her book Down The Drain, she wrote: ‘I don’t know how he did it, or how he got all of it there in time. But I was so surprised. Like, who does things like this on a second date? Or any date!’
‘I definitely see what I like but I’ve never really been the visionary. Kanye would come in and be like, ‘You should do your hair like this. You should do your makeup like this.’ That’s his love language, it’s clothes.’
Julia claimed Kanye tried to control what she would wear everytime they went out and also told her he wanted to assign a group of people to work on her wardrobe.
She also wrote in her book that on one occasion they went out, she was told to meet her new stylist in the restaurant bathroom who allegedly offered her several outfits to change into.
Julia also claimed Kanye offered to pay for her to get a boob job after seeing her modelling some of the new clothes he had approved.
But Julia didn’t appreciate Kanye’s in put and wrote that constantly wearing what he wanted her to wear made her feel like a ‘show monkey’.
Kim Kardashian
If Kanye’s eagerness to have a say over what his partner wears, it’s because he did the same thing during his marriage to Kim Kardashian.
Kim previously told how Kanye immediately wanted to change her wardrobe when they first started dating and had no problem telling her she had bad fashion sense.
Speaking at the Business of Fashion‘s inaugural BoF West summit, Kim recalled: ‘I always thought I had really good style—until I met my husband and he told me that I had the worst style. He was really nice about it and cleaned out my whole closet.’
According to Kim, Kanye reduced her to tears when he cleared out her wardrobe.
She said: ‘I probably had 250 pairs of shoes and when we were done cleaning it out, I had two pairs left and I cried.’
On an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, she added: ‘Our whole trade-off was that if I got rid of my clothes, he’d fill up my closet. But now I’m freaking out. Like, I could literally cry.’
Kim also claimed Kanye would regularly email her fashion advice complete with mood boards and once told her she could not wear big sunglasses anymore.
However, Kim doesn’t appear to hold any hard feelings and believes Kanye taught her more about fashion.
She said: ‘There were racks of clothes of designers I have never heard of before like Lanvin and Givenchy. I didn’t know that then.
‘I kept everything because it was really sentimental to me. I wanted to learn. When he did that, he wanted to teach me.’
Amber Rose

Amber had a highly-publicised two-year relationship with Kanye when they dated from 2008 to 2010.
The relationship ended badly however, with Amber later revealing the pair were ‘two very different people’.
Like his other exes, Amber has previously told how Kanye also encouraged her to wear the clothes he liked and once styled her for an Elle magazine photoshoot.
The rapper spoke publicly about his relationship with Amber and once cruelly joked he needed to take ’30 showers’ after their breakup.
Firing back on the No Jumper podcast, Amber said: ”He has picked on me for 10 years. He has bullied me for 10 years.’
She added: ‘I’m a compassionate person. I have empathy. I’m a good person. That’s why people love me. That’s why anybody I’ve ever dated loved me.
‘You can’t really mention anyone that says anything really bad about me – except for him, because I got away.’
Unlike Kim, Amber doesn’t feel she learned anything from her relationship with Kanye and said they are not ‘at all’ alike.
She added: ‘I don’t really think about him like that. For me, it’s some guy that I dated 10 years ago.’
