Garcelle Beauvais Admits She “Blew” Things with Jordan After He Invited Her to Hawaii

Garcelle Beauvais opened up about her life, including past romances, in her new memoir, Love Me As I Am. In the book, Garcelle detailed meeting and dating then-Bulls superstar Michael Jordan.

Garcelle explained she met Jordan on a photo shoot, writing, “I was impressed by how tall and handsome he was. He took me on a golf date after the shoot and showed me how to hold a club properly and swing.” She then revealed that she turned down Jordan’s invitation to a trip to Hawaii, writing, “Like a naive little girl, I was ‘clutching my pearls’ and shocked by the idea of going to Hawaii with a man I had just met.” Garcelle then admitted, “I blew that one!”

Garcelle also recently spoke about her romance with her “Fresh Prince” co-star Will Smith, revealing that they went out a few times, but the relationship didn’t last. While speaking about the relationship ending, Garcelle detailed calling Smith, who answered the speakerphone while he was in the car with his ex-wife Sheree Zampino and their son, Trey.

“I remember one day calling him and he was in the car. And his son, with Sheree, [they] were in the back. So you know, he picked up on the car or Bluetooth or whatever it was back in the day, or speakerphone — whatever it was — and he said, ‘Hey how are you doing?’ And I said, ‘I’m great.’

“And I heard this little voice in the background go, ‘Is that Miss Jada?’ And that’s when I was like okay — I’m not the only one. Exit stage left. If a kid knows somebody then that person’s a little bit more important, right?!”
