While reacting to the news, John Dumelo asked as a reply to a fan the merits of Aponkye’s campaign promises.

“What was his campaign strategy, was he really the people’s man? It’s one thing to appear on tv doing interviews and it’s another thing doing grassroot campaigning.”

“Pls don’t talk much. Some people like to push things out of you. God is with you dear…”

“Politricks and fake promises doesn’t win again. The last person who benefitted was Nana. Ghanaians are wiser now.
And stop referring to voters as grassroot. They are big trees with big roots and deserve better things”

“I have always said that he is minkless and does not know the role he should play to be elected at the post ,always promising healthy people with all the capacity to work to eat for free, is that, it does not encourage the laziness”

Aponkye has threatened to go to court to challenge the result.
