It’s looking more and more likely that Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will never play for Manchester United again after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan

Manchester United have reportedly begun the process of sacking Cristiano Ronaldo following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he slammed the club.

The Red Devils were ‘furious’ after being caught by surprise with the TV interview, in addition to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner claiming that he felt ‘betrayed’ by the club. Ronaldo accused United’s hierarchy of trying to force him out and he also claimed that he had no respect for boss Erik ten Hag.

United have been taking legal advice and now several outlets, including the Mirror, are reporting that lawyers have told them they have grounds to terminate Ronaldo’s deal for breach of contract.

The club issued a statement on Friday that read: “Manchester United has this morning initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo ’s recent media interview. We will not be making further comment until this process reaches its conclusion.”

Ronaldo and his representatives are likely to counter United’s plans, which will cost the 37-year-old superstar around £16million in lost wages.

Plenty of teams are likely to be interested in his signature, with Chelsea one of the sides heavily linked with a move for the Portugal international.
