Met Gala Co-Chairs Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez and More Step Out for Anna Wintour’s Famous Pre-Met Dinner

Stars are getting ready for the 2024 Met Gala!

Fashion’s biggest night is taking place May 6 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and ahead of the event, Anna Wintour, 74, threw her famous pre-Met Gala dinner at her apartment in New York City.

Co-chairs Zendaya, 27, Jennifer Lopez, 54, Chris Hemsworth, 40, and Bad Bunny, 30, were among those to attend the star-studded event.

Zendaya dressed to impress in a white vintage lace John Galliano gown from the designer’s fall 1998 collection. The stunning ensemble featured a sheer pink floral top embroidered with butterflies, which is most likely a nod to this year’s dress code being “The Garden of Time,” inspired by a short story by JG Ballard.

The Dune star completed the glamorous get-up with a pair of white Christian Louboutin pointed heels, wearing her hair in loose waves around her shoulders.

Meanwhile, Lopez opted for a black strapless gown designed by Diana Qerimi. The dress featured crystal-like detailing all over and she added some extra height with a pair of black Casadei platform heels. The singer completed the look with a chic ponytail and a pair of dangling diamond statement earrings.

Hemsworth, who attended the dinner with his wife Elsa Pataky, 47, looked dapper in an animal-print design blazer that he wore over a black satin shirt for the dinner. The Thor actor added a pair of dark trousers and some orange-tinted glasses.

Pataky opted for a glittering blue sequin blazer and matching hot pants that she teamed with a purple silk blouse and a high ponytail for the evening.

Co-chair Bad Bunny was also pictured arriving for the dinner wearing a dark blazer that he teamed with a simple white T-shirt. He wore the casual, but chic get-up with a baseball cap and glasses.

Sienna Miller, 42, and her boyfriend Oli Green, 27, were also among the attendees, with the pair enjoying a rare date night at the glitzy event. Miller donned a green suede one-sleeve mini dress for the dinner, that she teamed with some sheer black tights and a pair of pointed white heels.

Meanwhile, Miller looked dapper in a black suit and white shirt that he left open at the top. It was revealed in January that the pair had welcomed their first child together. The actress is also mom to daughter Marlowe, 11, whom she shares with ex Tom Sturridge, 38.

In November 2023, Vogue confirmed that the 2024 Met Gala theme would be “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” which is also the title of the corresponding Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute exhibit, set to run from May 10 to September 2, 2024.

Last month, co-chair Zendaya spoke about going up the Met Gala steps after a 5-year hiatus. “Going up the steps is very daunting, and I haven’t been back for maybe four or five years. So this is, like, my first time back at the Met in quite a while,” she said during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark on April 23.

Speaking about her stylist Law Roach, who she’s been working with since she was 14, the star said, “It’s fun in the sense that I like to look at fashion as creativity.”

“Even in press tours, it’s a way to continue the creativity from the film. … I like to just create characters, because ultimately sometimes, doing this for a living feels a little weird and awkward and I’m more of a shy, introverted person, so I get to create these characters. ‘I’m this woman today who wears a green suit.’ You get to embody this character for a day and clothes can do that for you,” the Challengers star continued.
