Missy Elliott is walking into 2023 with great energy and she wants the same for her friends and fans.

Taking to Instagram on the first day of the year, the legendary music maker spread love to her followers and encouraged everyone to have a fearless year of making their dreams come true.

“I wanna say Happy New Year to everyone! Now listen, you gotta walk in to 2023 being fearless,” Missy said in the clip. “You gotta make sure that the friends that you around match your energy. You don’t need nobody lazy around you or with negative energy because you don’t want nothing to block your blessing.”

She continued: “So make sure that you are full of peace and happiness and whatever you wanna do, you do it this year! Anything that you wanna become, you become it this year! Have drive, have consistency. And yeah, 2023 is yours! We gon’ already claim that.”

In her caption, she added: “It’s gonna be a PRODUCTIVE & PROSPEROUS YEAR because you gonna step out on FAITH. Mentally you gonna be in a better space than before! JUST CLAIM IT 2023 is YOURS!”

It was a great year for Missy Elliott, whose highly celebrated career got even more decorated when she was honored with her own street in her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia. The Portsmouth City Council voted unanimously in August to rename the local street in the entertainment sector to Missy Elliott Boulevard.

She also received her flowers from peers including the likes of Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj.

“It’s always gonna be first Missy Elliott,” Weezy told Fox Sports host Nick Wright as he put her on his Top 5 rappers list. “She’s a huge influence of everything I’ve ever done. JAY-Z is the best ever to speak. Biggie, obviously. Then I have the whole Goodie Mob. Then I have UGK.”

Missy was even forever immortalized in wax at Madame Tussaud’s in Las Vegas in November – and unlike some of the statues that can be considered questionable at best, Missy’s is scarily accurate.

“It’s acute YOU MUST SEE IT IN PERSON! The braids they did strand by strand! & My outfit is from the @vmas when I received the #Michael Video Vanguard Award!” Missy said about her statue.

She added: “Oh BTW my wax figure come with a Virtual Experience & there’s a screen beside it so you can do the #cooloffchallenge & be able to be apart of this EXPERIENCE Thank you so much to the AMAZING team who made this Historical.”
