Brosnan is set to play Hamed’s trainer Brendan Ingle in the sports drama ‘Giant,’ as multiple outlets reported earlier this month

Pierce Brosnan, is that you?

The actor looked much different from his usual self on Tuesday, April 23, in character for his role as boxer Prince Naseem Hamed’s trainer, Brendan Ingle, in the upcoming sports drama Giant.

Photographed on the film’s set in Yorkshire, England, Brosnan, 70, was seen with unusually thin stark-white hair, dressed in a track jacket and black slacks. Another snapshot showed the former James Bond actor smiling while wearing a beige jacket.

Multiple outlets, including Variety and Deadline, reported earlier this month that the Irish actor would play the Irish-born Ingle in Giant opposite Amir El-Masry as Hamed, with Sylvester Stallone on board as an executive producer. Rowan Athale will direct, from a script of his own.

According to a synopsis shared by Deadline and Variety, the movie “is the true story of Hamed’s humble beginnings on the tough working-class streets of Sheffield and his discovery by Ingle, himself a steel industry worker turned boxing trainer.”
“Their unlikely partnership, along with Naz’s unorthodox style, cocky persona and sheer dominance in the ring, propelled them to the top of boxing’s elite and unprecedented levels of global superstardom, all in the face of the rampant Islamophobia and racism of ’80s and ’90s Britain,” the synopsis adds, per the outlets.

Hamed, 50, is a five-time featherweight world champion, and was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2015.
Ingle, who died at age 77 in May 2018, was a professional boxer himself. Born in Dublin, he trained multiple world-champion boxers during his lifetime, including Hamed.
