Selena Gomez Says She Feels “Safest” in Her Relationship With Benny Blanco

Selena Gomez can’t stop gushing about her boyfriend Benny Blanco. In a new interview on Apple Music 1’s New Music Daily, the singer chatted with Zane Lowe about her new single “Love On” while also opening up about her “lovely” relationship with the music producer.
On Thursday, Gomez revealed that being with Benny is the “safest” she’s ever felt with a partner when compared to past relationships.

“Without getting into too much detail, I think it’s just really important to meet someone that respects you,” she began. “And I think it’s really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in. But I’d have to say overall it’s the safest that I feel and it’s been really lovely and I’ve only grown through it, so it’s awesome.”

Gomez and Blanco went public with their relationship in December 2023 after the Only Murders in the Building actress confirmed rumors that they were dating — and had been for six months. And while they only recently started seeing each other romantically, the pair have known each other since they collaborated on Selena’s 2019 song “I Can’t Get Enough.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Selena spoke about the inspiration behind her new song, which she wrote after spending two months in Paris last year. “The idea is that I was inspired a lot by living in Paris, that for two months I had to work there and I loved just the quality of life and how romantic it felt,” she explained, adding, “And then to kind of feel really happy in my life and actually mean it is so, it’s just like you can tell in my video, I’m just smiling the whole time. It’s such a good feeling.”
