Video Shows Lyft Driver Kick Racist Couple Out of His Car & Get Called an ‘N-Word Lover’

A Lyft Driver named James W. Bode recently went viral for the way in which he offered pushback against two would-be passengers for their racist comments, right before kicking them out of this vehicle. The face-to-face encounter took place a few days ago, around 10:30 pm, shortly after Bode arrived with his automobile outside of a pub and grill called “Fossils Last Stand,” which is located in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania. At that point, the couple proceeded to enter Bode’s vehicle, one by one. But just as the female would-be passenger made her way into the back seat, she made an unsettling comment to the driver about how relieved she was to see a White man behind the wheel.

“You’re like a white guy,” she says when she enters.

“What’s that?” Bode says in response.

“You’re like a white guy?” she explains. “You’re like a normal guy, like you speak English?”

This prompted Bode to condemn her racist remarks, “Nah, you can get out of the car,”  he says.

“What?” she asks.

“That’s inappropriate,” Bode states. “That’s completely inappropriate. If somebody was not white sitting in this seat, what would be the difference?”

“Are you serious?” said the woman who Bode later identified on social media as “Jackie.”

At that point, Jackie’s male companion intervenes by threatening to punch Bode in the face. He ends the confrontation by saying to the Lyft driver, “You’re a f*cking a*shole. F*cking N*gger lover. F*ck you!”

To that, Bode looks back at the couple and informs them that he is going to call the police on them, which was a promise that he would later fulfill in the form of a police report for an “assault threat.”

The entire incident was captured on video via the driver’s dashcam. Shortly after the encounter took place, Bode posted the video on Facebook, along with the caption: “If you make me feel uncomfortable, I will absolutely do the same, especially in my car or property.” The video has since made its rounds amongst various media outlets after having gone viral.

There is still no word on whether or not the couple has been fined, arrested, or banned from Lyft due to their behavior. For more on this story, click the link below.
