On Wednesday, November 17, news surfaced that Young Dolph was shot dead in Memphis. We take a look at the late rapper’s beef with Yo Gotti.

Fans began talking about the duo’s beef after cops showed up outside the latter’s restaurant following the rapper’s death.

It is known that the two Memphis rappers did not see eye to eye. Their longstanding beef saw them exchanging subtle disses through songs and taking jabs at one another in interviews.

It is unclear why the two Memphis rappers began beefing.

However, they became competitors after Young Dolph rose to fame in the Southern hip hop scene. The 36-year-old’s debut album was called King of Memphis, a title that Yo Gotti used to refer to himself.

Then, in 2016, the Paper Route Empire owner alleged that Yo Gotti wasn’t a fan of his soaring success. Taking to Twitter, the star wrote, “Bra went from bein my #1 fan and wanting to sign me to bein my BIGGEST HATER.”

The beef turned sourer when Blac Youngsta, an artist signed to Yo Gotti’s label Collective Music Group (CMG), took to Instagram to record a video threatening to “smack the s***” out of Young Dolph.
