Why Travis Kelce will not be joining Taylor Swift at Grammys

Travis Kelce will not be joining Taylor Swift at the 2024 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles this Sunday, Page Six can confirm.

We’re told the NFL star, 34, and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs will actually be arriving in Las Vegas at the same time to prepare for next Sunday’s Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Chiefs will be on a strict schedule leading up to the highly anticipated game, so Kelce has no time for any kind of travel, we’re told.

TMZ was first to report the news.

It’s unclear whether Swift, also 34, will attend music’s biggest night solo or bring someone else as her plus one.

Either way, it’s sure to be a memorable evening for the singer, who is up for six Grammys in the categories of record of the year, album of the year, song of the year, best pop solo performance, best pop duo/group performance and best pop vocal album.

Despite the couple’s demanding work schedules, we recently revealed that the musician will be cheering on her tight end boyfriend as the Chiefs take on the 49s at Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 11.

An insider told us that Swift, who is currently in the middle of the international leg of her Eras Tour, will make it back stateside just in time to support Kelce.

The “Anti-Hero” hitmaker is scheduled to put on four shows in Tokyo beginning Feb. 7. Her last performance at the Tokyo Dome is Feb. 10, one day before the Super Bowl, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m. local time.

“It’s a brutal flight, but she’ll get on her plane right after the concert,” our source shared.

A direct flight from Japan’s capital to Sin City is 13 hours, but there’s also a time difference that works in Swift’s favor. Tokyo is 17 hours ahead, giving her an advantage of traveling back in time as she crosses time zones.

The Grammy winner was present to watch Kelce and his teammates beat the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship this past Sunday, thereby securing their spot in the the Super Bowl.

After the big win, the “Blank Space” songstress rushed onto the field to greet the emotional athlete and shower him in hugs and kisses.

The pair also exchanged a few “I love yous” before Kelce headed back to the locker room to “enjoy with the guys.”

Swift and Kelce went public with their romance in September 2023, two months after he expressed interest in her on his “New Heights” podcast.

Since they’ve been dating, the vocalist has attended several of the football player’s games, while he made sure to fly to Argentina to attend one of her concerts.
