The Philadelphia native recently revealed the hefty cost of a Meek Mill verse on social media, prompting users on the platform to question whether the return on that investment would be beneficial.

When one person pointed out that a song featuring Meek would need to accumulate around 75 million streams in order to recoup the cost, the rapper reasoned that his presence on a track is equivalent to “brand swapping” and could heighten an artist’s visibility.

“Some of these artist need others platform to get their point across and I offer them data and fanbase opportunities along with mass marketing,” the Dreamchaser explained. “I have 50 millions followers with real engagement … you can get good playlisting with solid meek feat!”

Meek Mill’s last major feature came in 2021, when he appeared on the track “Still Runnin” from Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s The Voice of the Heroes album. In late 2023, a collaboration between Meek and Boston rapper Millzy was teased via the latter’s YouTube and social media channels, but an official version has yet to surface.

Meek apparently had free time on his hands on Wednesday (Jan. 24), as he took the time to address detractors of the advice he imparts onto his followers. When one follower discouraged others from listening the rapper’s advice to act “dumb around dumb people” and “smart around smart people,” Meek pointed to his accolades and financial status as reason to take heed of his words.

“I made over 100m in my life,” the 36-year-old wrote in response. “I feed my community my family and change laws that send black and brown men to prison systematically … and I been on a 10 year success rate of the 1% of black men … why should they listen to you,” he added.

Seemingly miffed, Meek would accuse people of thinking negatively and being hateful towards the community they come from. “Why are people so judgmental with nothing going on in their lives positive? I need answers, it’s some real crab in the barrel people pushing this tear your own people down narrative… it’s like looting your own community… focusing on yourself is very rewarding!”

The rapper concluded his tirade in another post, adding, “We gotta get the hatred out the black community!”
