NBA YoungBoy To Host ‘Don’t Try This At Home’ Album Release Party While On House Arrest

NBA YoungBoy isn’t letting house arrest stop him from celebrating the release of his forthcoming album Don’t Try This At Home with his fans – as he’ll be doing so on live stream.

According to TMZ, the party will go down at Elevate Lounge in Los Angeles next Thursday night (April 20) while YoungBoy taps in live from his home in Utah. His team is reportedly shelling out $200,000 for the event, which will include customized decor, drinks from 50 Cent‘s Branson Cognac and DJ Carisma providing the sounds. The album will arrive during the party at 9 p.m. PT, so the fans will get to celebrate it in real time.

There will also be a fan raffle, where the winner will get to talk with NBA YoungBoy over the stream at some point during the party.

Don’t Try This At Home will feature 33 tracks, including the recently-released “WTF” with Nicki Minaj. The melodic track arrived on Friday (April 7) alongside an Isaac Garcia-directed music video featuring both YB and Nicki, but neither appear in the same shot together.

During his appearance on the Rap Radar Podcast in February, the Baton Rouge rap star claimed he would be “talking crazy” on Don’t Try This At Home, but clarified his lyrics are purely for entertainment purposes.

“I’ma talk crazy on there,” he said. “I’ma show you Murda Man. I’ma talk crazy on there, but I’m letting you know though, don’t try this at home. It’s all entertainment, bruh. I’ma talk my shit and everything I’m talking, letting you know, don’t try this at home.

“Entertainment and reality is very different. What I do think, some of the entertainers make their entertainment their reality also, if I said that right.”

As for his house arrest, YoungBoy was recently granted a modification that make his time less restrictive. In March, Judge Shelly Dick removed two conditions from the rapper’s supervised release — as a result of the ruling, he’ll be allowed to have more than three visitors without a curfew at his home.

In October 2021, YoungBoy, who was facing two federal gun charges at the time, was released on $1.5million bail and ordered to live under house arrest. His release limited him to three visitors at a time, in addition to his wife, a producer and his business manager, who also shared his home.

The rapper fought back and petitioned to get off house arrest this past July, but was denied.
